Do’s & Dont’s

If you’re reading this, you’ve probably got a good sense of how liberating and freeing Cap d’Agde can be, but there are still some important do’s and don’ts to keep in mind. These will help you avoid fines from the local police—or worse.

Let’s start with a few dont’s:

Sex in Public: Do not engage in sexual activities on the streets, the promenade, in shopping centers, bars or on the public beach. This might seem obvious, but with sex being allowed in some semi-open-air venues, clubs, and certain swimming pools, the lines can sometimes feel blurred. After a few drinks and a night of partying, it’s easy to forget where those boundaries are. Close dancing, light touching and kissing in bars like Melrose or Bohemia is very common, but save the more intimate activities for places where they’re explicitly allowed. As for the balcony of your apartment, that’s a bit of a gray area. It happens, but please be mindful of families and children who might be nearby.

Sex in the Dunes: While having sex on the designated part of the beach or in the sea is tolerated, venturing into the dunes is strictly prohibited because of environmental reasons. Local police patrol these areas, and the fines for being caught can be high.

Entering the Village Without a Pass: Always carry your entrance card with you. The police may ask to see it at any time, and being caught without it can lead to trouble. Don’t try to sneak in the village, pay the small entrance fee at the registration desk if you don’t have accommodation inside.

Touching Without Consent: Even though Cap is a place where physical interaction can sometimes feel more fluid, like in the crowded foam party or a playroom where everyone’s close, consent is still key. A firm “no” always means no. Asking if you’re allowed to touch, kiss, or engage in any sexual activity shows confidence and respect and it’s crucial to building trust.

Don’t leave your belongings unattended. Even in Cap, thefts can happen, so it’s important to stay vigilant. Always lock up your rental bike and avoid leaving your wallet or phone unattended. Since phones aren’t allowed for taking photos in most places anyway, it’s a good idea to leave your phone in the safe at your accommodation.

There’s basically only one important ‘do’.

Enjoy Cap d’Agde to the fullest in your own way.   Whether you want to go all out, soft swap, full swap, participate in orgies, attend public and private parties or simply soak in the erotic vibe with your partner without interacting with others, it’s all possible here. The atmosphere in Cap is unlike anywhere else in the world. People are in great spirits, and everyone is open to conversation. Take the time to meet new people, explore the winding streets, and treat yourself to some new sexy outfits or exciting new sextoys. Have an amazing time and by the end of it, you’ll likely find yourself saying,:

”We’ve got to do this again next year!”
